Character Name: Gwyneira Nocturne

Looks&PB: Waist-length platinum blonde hair, big blue eyes that always have a glint of curiousity in them. She rarely smiles, not because she's angry, but because everything is taken in stride, and there is nothing to really smile about. Prefers to wear simple clothes, but her guardian likes to dress her up.

Background: Gwyneira was an unexpected child of a family in Low Town. When she was 12-years-old she and her family were abducted to be used as test subjects for illegal biological experiments. Before the scientists had a chance to complete their testing on her, though, the labratory was shut down and she was saved from complete mutation. As it was, Gwyneira lost her voice, her back was adorned with feathers down her spine, and her life span was considerably shortened. (This, no one knows, though they suspect, since most of the experiments would die relatively quickly.)

Once again, Gwyneira was at a loss for a home, but was taken in by a kind, well-off elderly couple who didn't mind her irregularities. It took a while for her to get used to them, but now she trusts them as if they were really her family, and let's the woman dress her up, even if she thinks it's a tad strange. The experiments had lingering mental effects on her, though--for months, she was afraid of any other person than her guardians but was scared to be alone, and she disliked staying in dark and closed spaces. Thus, she was torn. She wanted to go outside, but she was afraid of the people there. To occupy herself, her guardians taught her how to play the piano, something she enjoys to do in her free time.

They also wanted her to get some sort of education beyond basic, so after a year, Gwyneira expressed an interest in alchemy. (By then, she was becoming more comfortable with people and enclosed areas.) At first, this surprised them, because alchemy was what was used to mutate her in the first place, but she explained that she wanted to learn so she could maybe help those who have suffered. Acknowledging her desires, the couple decided to pay for Gwyneira's tuition. After the time skip, it will be first year there.

Personality: Quiet, shy, generally timid around everyone, save her guardians. Also extremely apologetic. She is easily embarrassed and scared of loud noises.
